Feeding Guide

A simple guide to feeding Vital Raw frozen raw dog food. Every dog is different, so use this as a starting point and adjust to your dog's age, weight, activity level and health. If your dog has a health condition, check with your vet before changing their diet.

How much to feed

Adult dogs are typically fed around 2–3% of their body weight each day. Puppies usually need more, depending on their growth stage and breed size. Always check the individual product description for feeding suitability.

Switching to raw

Most dogs can switch gradually over 5–7 days by mixing increasing amounts of raw food with their current food. Some dogs can move across straight away, depending on how sensitive their digestion is.

Storing your order

Keep products frozen at -18°C until needed.

Defrosting and serving

  • Defrost the amount you need in the fridge.
  • Use within 24–48 hours of thawing.
  • Do not refreeze once fully thawed.
  • Remove any uneaten food after 20–30 minutes.
